"In Ningbo, In Joy" Cultural Tourism Promotion Event Held at Dongqian Lake

Nearly a hundred domestic and international tourists gathered at Dongqian Lake on April 7 for a unique cultural tourism experience—the "In Ningbo, In Joy" promotion event.

Organized by the Dongqian Lake MICE Tourism Alliance Shanghai Marketing Center, the activity brought together visitors from Fiji, Slovakia, Slovenia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Germany, the U.S., India, as well as China’s Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

Designed as a "semi-guided in-depth tour," the event offered tailored experiences, allowing participants to explore the lake’s serene beauty by bike or boat, enjoy family-friendly hot spring activities, and immerse themselves in Ningbo’s cultural heritage.

A highlight was the "Elegance of the Song Dynasty" intangible cultural heritage zone, where artisans showcased traditional crafts, giving global guests a close-up look at China’s rich history. A fusion tea banquet and a "24 Solar Terms"-themed dinner creatively linked Ningbo’s top inbound travel routes—from maritime Silk Road explorations to Siming Mountain geological adventures—showcasing the city’s ancient port charm and modern global appeal.

"Ningbo’s poetic coastline and timeless Song Dynasty elegance are mesmerizing. Every visit brings new discoveries," said Fiji’s Consul General in Shanghai, Chen Yuru. Xu Lingna, President of the Shanghai Expatriate Service Center, added, "We hope this event helps more international friends understand and fall in love with Ningbo while contributing to global cultural tourism."

To further boost inbound tourism, Ningbo has launched a "Three-Year Inbound Tourism Doubling Action Plan." Leveraging the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, Dongqian Lake Tourism Resort is enhancing cooperation with Shanghai’s international communities and overseas chambers of commerce. The resort has also introduced personalized "micro-getaway" packages and streamlined services to ensure seamless, enjoyable experiences for global visitors.
